She's here!

After a long wait (41+5) Violet arrived July 13th at 7:18pm.  She weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 19" long.  After a little bit of a stay in the hospital for some (pretty severe) jaundice issues, we're finally home!

I know this community's not very active, but come on... birth stories anyone? or announcements even? the month is more than half over there's got to be more babies born by now! (not mine, though. mine is staying put for now).

aaaaargh :(

The plan was to begin induction tonight. I was told to call L&D at 4:00 p.m. today to find out when to show up for Cervadil application. When I called I learned that they were unusually busy and full, and that I should call again at 9:00 p.m. to see if they have space for me, but that I may just have to go in tomorrow morning instead. *headdesk*

I shouldn't whine. They apparently had 3 C-sections last night and had to turn the antenatal testing room into an actual 2-person room. I'm probably not going to need a C-section myself. Still, I'd gotten myself psyched up to go in tonight and now it probably won't happen. Argh.

On the bright side, all antenatal testing has turned out well. The baby has been super-active. He's going to be fine. I'm just so. very. done. BABY NAO PLZ.

ETA: Nope, not tonight. I'll be calling tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m., and hoping they have room for me then.

Sometimes, when I wake up (to pee, of course) after I've been lying on my left side, my inner thigh on that side feels like it's on fire.  It's not a skin thing, so um, fellow pregnant ladies, what in the heck is going on?

Feel free to commiserate with other stories of aches and pains.  (This is the most peculiar one, but I have many many others at this point!  5 1/2 weeks to go before my due date...)

how is everyone doing as we head into the home stretch?

i'm uncomfortable, but finally at a point where all the annoying symptoms have pretty much stopped.  i have hip pain, and sciatica issues, but no more heartburn, nausea, gagging, etc, that seemed to last forever.  i also started training the person who will cover my maternity leave, which makes it feel so close now.
